I think they are in constant progressand they represant well the oldschool of the EAST COAST. PS: Mike D's head is worst than all ( ) but I like him and I respect what he do.
AGAINST!! just couldn't get into their voices, but i HAD to keep them in my collection because they always got a rouse from the crowd.. Go figure.?? But today, They are like Hip Hop.... DEAD!!

I was never a big fan of 'Licensed To Ill' - especially first knowing of the Beastie Boys thru the 'Cookie Puss' EP. It seemed like a joke...just some punks making fun of hip-hop... Everybody claims 'Paul's Boutique' is a classic album. I liked it, but just wasn't feeling it like everyone else. But...
When they released 'Check Your Head' (there classic LP, for me), that's when I became a big fan. They went back to their punk roots and managed to make it work well with hip-hop. Like SOS said, they've got those turntables still going on, too - which got even better when they brought in Mixmaster Mike...
I've always been thumbs-up although I agree that license to ill did seem to be a joke album at first, but i do like The New Style, Hold it now hit it and Paul Revere. And now w/Mixmaster Mike I think they do acknowledge the importance of old school hip hop regardless of the flexible nature of their music.
Some of their other cuts i enjoy: Root Down, Sabotage, 3 MCs and 1 DJ
I care to differ Bishop, compared to their old stuff, their new stuff.....it only rocks them.. I couldn't move a crowd with their new stuff unless they were blasted or drunk. compared to back in the day when all you really needed was paul revere. Like I said, wasn't back then and STILL not today.....

fair enough but thats cuz they've taken more of a political stand with their stuff and most kids these days are either too dumb to know the issues or have the brains to take a stand on any of them. or atleast thats what ive gotten from the people ive tried to introduce them to. most didnt know enough about them or that bush's a moron or they were too into the bullshit boybands and listen to bullshit like fergie and take that for the real deal...
Once again, This proves that Hip hop is DEAD. I mean TRUE Hip Hop as WE know it. thus new age junk is a shame compared to the hip hop of the day.. Too much other crap going for and nobody really cares about the music anymore. It's all give me now and no thought to anything anymore.. so sad.. But We keep Oldschool LIVE!!
