In the very late 80's or the very early 90's my oldest brother had a casette (I remember it being a single but I was a kid so I could be wrong about that one) with a hip hop song that I listened to over and over again.....
I've done a lot of searching on the internet and such just going on the sample that I know was in it but I've only turned up the original song the sample was from (X-Clan, Grand Verbalizer), and an Ice Cube song that used samples from the same song (When Will They Shoot), as well as Rakim song that used the beat from the X-Clan song and it's not any of those.
What I remember about the song.....
Every chorus was the sample from the X-Clan song... "stalkin', walkin' in my big black boots" several times in a row.
The beat of the song was the SAME exact beat from the X-Clan song as well but it sounded a lot better (ie, the same beat but redone so it wasn't so low-fi sounding), and it was either the same tempo or a slight bit faster.
For some reason my memory tells me that either the song, or the title of the group had "mafia" in it somewhere, but the tape may have just always been in the wrong case the entire time, I was young and may remember that wrong as well.
Also, the song as NOT by Three Six Mafia, or Black Mafia Life.
Sorry this is so vauge.. any suggestions on what it might be?
I have the original X-CLan song. The song I'm looking for uses the entire beat and a snippet of vocals from the X-Clan song "Grand Verbalizer what time is it" as the chorus throughout the entire song.
I will check out the Lench Mob song suggested too, thanks for the replies.
