Just wanted to see what everything was thinking in regards to their ALL TIME FAVOURITE beat?? I know this is a hard question and there are so many out there, but I think one that pretty much takes the cake for me would be:
I Gotta ( Get Down ) by Casual, produced by The Alchemist. This has to be one of the best, most grimy, in your face beats I have ever heard. I cant get enough of it.
Although there are so many other beats I like just as much, that is ajust a personal fav because I heard the beat, and it took me ages after that to discover who the track was by.
Other fav's would be:
Diamond D - Stunts, Blunts and Hip Hop, When it rains it pours ( or anything by Diamond and DITC ) Showbiz and AG - Soul Clap, and the whole Goodfellas album PUTS - Youth Explosion, LA Song ( Sensitive Mix ), Hang Loose Pt 2, The Dig, Jappy Jap, Earth Travellers, Code Check Common & Sadat - 1999 Mos Def - Hip Hop , Know That
damn, there is too many, I didnt even touch on any old school beats, there were just the first that popped into my head, I saw another thread about fav old school beat, so i thought i would touch on some New School shit...
I just realised there is a beat that will make me even question my own answer, the reason I didnt realise it before is becuase I dont own it yet. i was lucky enough the other night to score a set of doubles of this track on ebay. cant wait for it to arrive.
SUPA STAR by Group Home ( produced by DJ Premier )
That is definitley the best or one of the best beats I have ever heard...
Optimus, you gotta check out the board more, i already did that question and got alot of feedback from it.. check out what the other oldheads had to say....there are WAAAAAYYYYYY too many beats to give just one.. what about the herbie hancock roct k it beat? that has never been sampled? that 's just am example of what I think.. marrinate on that one for a minute.. Peace

there's hella beats that I love; Mass Appeal - gangstarr B-Boy Document - Mos def lick the balls - slick rick sucker mc's - run dmc
but the one beat I love, and its also my fave hip hop track ever... Rebel without a pause - P.E
hey Sabian,
Good Call!!! Yes, def have to put Mass Appeal by Gangstarr close to the top, that was actually one of the first tracks that got me into hip hop all together, i heard it on all old 411 skate video, and it blew my mind. less than one week later I owned Moment of truth and have never looked back...
do you know what the original sample used for that track is, would love to know.... such a mesmorizing beat, sorta puts u into a zone...
Do u like People Under the stairs?? Have you heard Thes One's remix of Sally? DBC on the flipside, also very very crazy.... he evens puts himself into the track... AWESOME WOULD BE A HUGE UNDERSTATMENT...
Yeah I know Sally is a song by stetasonic, i love it...
I was saying thes one from people under the stairs made a record called " The next stets" where he remixes "Sally" and "DBC-let the music play" by stetasonic.... really good remixes, he even puts a verse from himself into one of the tracks, think its the sally track...
