YO; This  is for all TRUE B-Boyz-N Gurlz.....In Hip-Hop, there have always been those that stood around on the fringes and watched, leaching off of the culture that was created and kept alive by those that PARTICIPATED in the TRUE CULTURE. The question of the day is this: Are you a participator, or are you a perpertrator? Huh? I'm not talking about merely bringing tha' muzik back, I'm talking about TRULY building and nurturing this thing that we have here...Sure, the original vision was given to Tha' Big Cheez, but it is up to US, the REAL Hedz, to take it up and run with it-Sure, the videeyoz are cool, but you can get those on u-tube-WASSUP? Let;s do this.....I herby call a summit meeting of all y'all that are DOWN with Ol' Skool hip-hop....Let's unite for what's right, and make this sight tight....Hip-Hop is something you LIVE, NOT a site that you log onto ere' once in a while. Let's put our money where our mouths are, and let our collective creative juices flow.....D.J. S.O.S. is back, and he has spoken...Remember, this is protected by the RED, the Black and the GREEN, sIssieeeezzzzz......

hey,

I def consider myself hip hop, i live and breathe hip hop, I am obsessed with it, its all i think about all day. if I'm not listening to music, Im either on the decks cutting the shit up, running through lyrics / beats and rhymes in my head while in the shower or doing other shit, at a gig getting down to some live shit or if not any of that im discussing my hip hop theories with my crew..
I do everything I can to spread the word of good hip hop and good music to all decent and good people I meet, who at the moment havent been exposed to the real shit we all know. As down in Australia, hip hop isn't as big, and if someone with hip hop knowledge hasn't shown you the good chance, there is a good chance u would have never heard a decnt beat and u would think hip hop is Nelly, 50 cent and Emimem, which couldnt be further from the truth.
people think hip hop is all guns, violence and ho's, when hip hop is really the most positive kind of music there is, people dont know SHIT!! They dont realise how much culture and history is behind this music.

So DJ SOS - what are u trying to organise, a HIP HOP Summit meeting or something, or a big HIP HOP JAM Party style event.

IM DEF down for whatever u are trying to organise, but Im all the way over here in Australia.
Let me know if there is anything I can do or help with...

What I'm trying to organise is this: In todays world, we can hold a Hip-Hop summit AND an Ol' Skool jam ONLINE. Where? Right HERE, on OSL...Let's get together and bring the MUSIC back, I mean, when the cost of renewing the stream is divived amongst all of the real heads that listen to this site, how much could it be? What about mix shows, mix-offs, freestyle battles, breakbeats, etc., y'now, HIP-HOP? Let's get together and rally behind tha' Big Cheese, and make this sight come off. To tha' break of dawn. And beyond........

The Big Cheeze checkin in......  So SOS..  Let me tell you what I'm planning so far.. The radio stream should be returning soon, but only on a monthly subscription basis... It's going to be exactly like before as far as being able to listen and request tracks..

Also there will be a forum where subscribers can start and reply to topics as well.. That right there will attract and unite the real heads. An email will be going out shortly once I can get the radio server back into tip top shape.

As for the mix offs, I think that's a cool idea.. If you remember I tried to start that awhile back and had no takers... I would love to get that started.. and something like that could just stay here on the message boards... All I would have to do is start that forum back up. All DJ's would have to do is link to the their mixes and people can vote...

Anyone else have ideas for the site?   I'm all ears.. If it's something I can do financially, and if it's something that I have the know how for, then I'm game

one idea i got is to have like a hip hop trivia contest or somethin like that where the winner would get some type of prize. like 0SL jeopardy.

If I didn't know any better, I'd think you were calling me out on this one.. i have heard from you in a hot minute, I thought you were like today's hip-hop......Gone!!! but I see, you're like me, can't keep a true olehead down and as long as I'm around, so will TRUE hip hop be.. Like i told the big Cheeze, you KNOW  I'M down so you guys better count my money in, and hook me up.  you KNOW how to GET me so give a brotha a HOLLA before i get all IKE turner up in here..lol So let the dj save some lives and do his thing..Play that funky music w.. boy!! lol

Hip hop is a lifestyle that we can all live by but you don't have to be 100% all the time. Be an indivual. Make your own style. Cuz I wear Chucks or I have Air force ones dosen't make hip hop. Maybe I jus like them. Hip hop is the way you carry your self not what you wear or what type of beats you make. The induivual makes hip hop great. Russel Simmions is hip hop but so is Flava Flav. There are a ton of people in between. It's the way we carry our self that makes us hip hop.
