A Quick OldSchoolLive.com Radio Survey (Only 4 questions)

I've been getting some feedback about the radio stream, so I'd like to take a survey of some other listeners, and possibly see how far this could go...

If you are familliar with the oldschoollive.com radio stream that went down earlier this month, please take the time to complete the following survey.

Those who are unfamilliar with oldschoollive.com radio are still welcome to take the survey, but I would like to hear more from those who have been regulars to OSL radio.

on the survey, a user asked if there will me more tracks added to the playlist... No doubt... I actually had a big update that was about to go live. So the answer is yes. The money coming in would pay for the costs of keeping the server up, and for new tracks.  

As long as I can get 20 loyal listeners right off the bat, I shouldn't have any problem paying for the site and new tracks each month

There was another comment on this survey that said:

"make the request not be limited by number per hour, but by financial contribution. like if you pay this much you get this status. like you can bump down a lower status request in the cue or get more request per hour"

1) That's actually a pretty good idea, but there is only 1 problem with that. I have nooooo idea how I could possibly do that. I wouldn't be able to base it on the username and password of the messageboard because the messageboard database is hosted by activeboard.com, and I wouldn't be able to tap into it unless I pay them a bunch of money to make something custom for me.

2) Even if I was somehow able to base it on username and password, I am only able to have 1 setting when it comes to request frequency with the software I use to broadcast music with.. So I wouldn't be able to do it that way even if I wanted to.

3) Besides, I plan to set it up to where everyone pays the same amount. The reason for the survey is so I can find a happy medium and pick a price. I just need to make sure that the price I pick will cover the monthly cost based on price and on how many subscribers I can get.


I wish I could do something like that just so I could make more money for the station, but unfortunately it's not possible.

Just a quick update on this...

The server is dead... yes dead... Not 100% sure as to how, but I do know why.. it's going to take about a week or so to get it back up... So hopefully, we can get something rolling again soon if all goes well. smile

I also need to get a backup solution in place incase this happens again one day.
