Have any of you heard the new song by Nas ft. Lauren Hill? (If I ruled the world)

If you have answer this:

Is Nas just copyin Kurtis Blow or is he tryin to bring the old school to the kids?

(It's a pretty tight song regardless)

I'm thinking by the word "new", he really meant "newer"   :)

Actually, I like the Nas version.. and I think that it was a tribute to the old school. Not only was he utilizing "If I Ruled the World", he also sampled the beat from whodini's "Friends". I think that he showed that that old school sound would still be a hit in '96...

I also like when an artist remakes a whole old school jam (i.e. Snoop Dogg's version of La Di Da Di)

But what I can't stand is when an artist takes a whole phrase from something back in the day, and put's it into their rhyme.. At first it was kinda cool. But now everyone's doing it......

I guess lyric biting is "in" these days.

oh my bad the reason i thought it was new was cause i heard it on the new school hip hop (107.9 Cleveland's Blazin Hip Hop and R&B) station on my car radio and pretty much everything they play is new.  They must have thrown in that song randomly or somethin
