This one is aight Rich, I like him then because it was all about the rhymes back then and the industry had gone high tech with everything, but now, with all the youngins comin up he has to keep up with the next rapper and what he puts out and what the youngins like. But You GOTTA give him props for lasting this long. Most rappers either faded with time or went into producing and left it to the new generation or went into something different all together. So I commend the brother..

Plus Rich, you can't blame him for the wack rhymes, look at what most of all the rappers are putting out today.. Most of it is WACK, that's why Oldschool Rules!

LL Cool J is hard as hell,

battle anybody I don't care who you tell,

I excel, they all fail...

he predicted this long ago... nuff said..

in a nutshell......."THE DEFinition" of "TODD SMITH" is "BIGGER & DEFFER" than most mc's you listen to on the "RADIO". While others dance to the deat of a different drummer, LL Cool J is "WALKING WITH A PANTHER". While alot of mc's end up being "pink cookies in a plastic bag being crushed by buildings", LL can give you "14 SHOTS TO THE DOME". Some people say he is a "PHENOMENON" but don't call it a comeback, he's been here for years. Even though his "MAMA SAID KNOCK YOU OUT" he'd rather keep your "HEADSPRUNG". Some mc's may sit and gloat, but lets face it he is the "G.O.A.T.".......

Ye LL got a good passed !

( BAD, Rock the bells, getdown,I need love ...)

BUT, today, he is not like in the passed ...

He got the new school style, his voice changed, his flow is rapid but he don't rap like twenty years ago .

That's why I regreat the "Old cool J"

The LLcoolJ who was inspired by the Run-D.M.C style ...

Today,LL is not LL and hip hop is not hip hop .

but you know this might be the reason he prolonged his career so long... his skills might be over average at best now but compared to alot of this moo-goom-a-gob (pronounce that lol) on the radio his simplest rhymes are solid enough to get him a hit here and there. i actually like that tune he did with j-lo and headsprung with timbaland...but he will always be jack the ripper to me... i think he even has the right to be wack since hes been out since the 80s....

Yo, LL then, now and forever.....

The thing that I respect most about LL, Ice Cube, and Will Smith is that they all found a way to "grow up" in hip-hop. Not an easy feat. Sure, to ol' skoolin' , lyrical purist, LL may SEEM wack, but you gotta understand that he's been at the top of the game for so long, that he niether seeks or needs "respect". He's like an all star athelete, near the end of his career, that isn't worried about winning championships, because he's already been there, right now, he's just clocking those last few dollars before he retires-Can you blame him?

On the other hand, just let ANYBODY (I don't care WHO you tell) step to LL, and I assure you, THEY WILL GET RIPPED BY THE G.O.A.T.!!!!

You gotta love LL... I do... But I feel you Rich, he did get weaker and weaker over time. There's no comparing his first album to his newest.

But you know... what I'm about to say should probably be a new post, but F it... I'm the big cheeze... I can do what I want.... LOL

This post got me thinking... If I had to choose one MC that has longevity, and whose newest album can be camparible to his first album, and whose rhymes are just as tough today as they have ever been----- If I had to give up my whole old school hip hop collection except for the collection of albums by this one MC, I would have to point my finger over to KRS-One/BDP. KRS-One IS hip hop!

-Today, the rap is only a buisness, hip hop is dead and rap is commercial ... It's chaotic, Good MC's are very rare

( Notorious B.I.G, Jay-Z ... It's hard to find more )

another huge difference is that LL could get into a battle and thered be no bloodshed, no nothin. now you got rappers makin things way too personal (ex:callin rappers' kids/wife/mom)  , gettin shot, etc.

and just ONE of the shootings or murders over a battle can make the WHOLE hip hop industry look bad

Shootings and murders don't make Hip hop look bad, young minds and weak raps do that, and when you got a young head that thinks he's got skillz enough to come at our oldschoolers with that weak stuff and then gets shot down, he aint got no other way to retalliate but to make it personal and or physical then it's starts getting out of hand..

Back in the day(check it if you wanna) if you had beef, you squashed it with mics in hand and the lesser was man or woman enough to step, But now it's not like that at all. now you got bodyguards and everybodys anutie and uncle getting into it and it gets really out of hand..I liked it when you got beat and went home for a while and THEN you came back with you "A" game and tried again. It's not like that today....today you come back with gats and bats....and then the game changes.. for the Bad!!

LL cool J rhymes are weak today because, today, it's easy to be a rapper... You have just to be cool and rich, LL cool J is ...

His rhyme are weak because he is not obliged to work hard for to be a star...

People was more exigent ten or twenty years ago, today, people don't know what's REAL HIP HOP !

Yo, I agree with tha' cheese; Knowledge Reigns Supreme Over Nearly Everyone....

Regarding Cool J-Again, we have to take into consideration where his head is at nowadays-He's no longer a younf, hungry MC looking for respect. He's got his...Now, he's just spittin' what be gittin' them dollas......
