Yo, i grow up un South Jersey and when hip hop first hit the scene me and my boys were into riding Huffy bikes, tring to be cool in front of the girls, basement parties for .25cents, busten our Chuck Taylors All-Stars, and you know jammin our boxes, OH! can't forget the MJ jackets with a 1,000 zippers. Dammm it's been along time since i thought back that far ;Thanks.
I thought He said Back in the day? Bones-thug????? They don't go back that far..
He's talkin about bustin the cap on the hydrent and takin a can to make it rain and gettin your wet thing on....The block parties where everybody from the buildings around you came out and hung out. WHen Grand Mater Flash did the message and everybody related to the song.
When you could get a nickel bag in the little brown envelop for 5 bucks..when stevie wonder did master blaster..Man those where when the times where good..

down here in miami florida... i remember as early as TLA rock Its Yours on my brothers huge box. he had the tape player where the tape flipped over without taking out the tape. 2 live crew came out with revelation (11111...2222222...you dont stop) pumping converse low, high top, and decks... wearing creased courderoys and silk shirts... skating rinks were hotter than the clubs at the time... that was before luke opened strawberries (see me so horny video on youtube) the dj scene was hot out on the parks during the summer...funny how i can remember all of this at the age of 8/9 and cant find my car keys 20 mins ago...

Medley-It was the same way in L.A. with guys like Egyptian Lover, L.a. Dream Team, Tha' Wreckin' Crew (Dr. Dre and them),etc...
Tango-We had a bumpin' skating rink scene, too. Who can forget Flippers Roller-Boogie Palace, World On Wheels, Washington & Arlington, and Rosecrans...
We also had 1580 KDAY, the worlds first ALL HIP-HOP station..They used to have these live mix shows on Friday and Saturday nights from World On Wheels, In fact, that's how most of the L.A. sound came from...Speaking of roller-rink artist's, I can't leave out JJFadd(supersonic!)
