If I had a nickel for every suburban white boy who tried to be down with "old school hip hop" I'd be a millionaire. Whatever happened to the old fashioned B-boy? Hip hop is dying a slow death, going the way of glam rock, due to the gentrification of the music by suburbia. Die suburban fakers, die!!

Honestly I wouldnt hate on their want to love this music. Its just like being black... they could never grasp the full meaning of it because black folks generated the history and was involved in it in one way or another... could never have that feeling of being at a staged battle or a performance from and old school hip hop artist... that love they have for embracing old school hip hop will forever be with them but they must respect the fact that they will forever be students and never the professors of this genre of music... just like jazz.

You know, that's a very intelligent statement and I agree wholeheartedly. So many suburban fake white boys want to talk the slang and dress the part, but they never had to deal with any of the tough aspects of urban life, getting robbed, beef that keeps your head on swivel at night, etc, etc.
The funniest thing to me is how affluent suburbanites want to emulate a largely poor lifestyle. Knowing they would sh*t their pants walking through SE DC or Bed Stuy, 5th ward in Houston or the South Side of Chicago.

well...all i would say to that is...everyone in that situation would conform or do what it takes to get out of that situation... its tough on the poor no matter what the skin tone is... what should be considered is what can folks do, in middle class and lower middle class america where the bulk of the citizens are, to improve the lives of the poorer... corporations have the lobbyist and representatives and senate members in their pockets... like george carlin says the communists are coming and they wont be wearing army fatigues...they will be representing corporations for world globalization... look around do you realize were buying WATER ... instead of improving situations enviromentally in neighborhoods or converting salt water to fresh water which they can do through filtering. definitely bigger things going on in the world than whos listening to what.
