How did it start?

We all know and love good old fashioned battles, but do we know how they began?  1.How did Kool Moe Dee and L.L. get started? (bonus old school points-name all of the songs)  2. How did BDP vs. juice crew get started?(EXTRA old school bonus points-give me BDP's original name)

I don't know all the answers, but I'm going to go for what I do know:

1) I'm thinking it started with LL's Jack the Ripper, and then Kool Moe Dee followed up with "Let's Go".... that's all I can think off right now

2) I'm pretty sure KRS got pissed off when Shan said that Hip Hop started in Queens, so then BDP made "South Bronx" and "The Bridge is Over"...

Never knew that BDP had another name..

man youre asking for this....right now to me its like a high school fight...you cant remember nothing but the knockout blow... lol...

but if memory serves me right... lets go from kool moe dee came out after jack the ripper...and kook moe dee dissed ll on how you like me now.

of course shan was talking garbage about queens originated hip hop and south bronx was created out from that... i was watching beef last week on tv... and caught a glimpse of that...

still cant believe nelly tried to diss krs one...thats like catching tyson at the end of his career... when he slows up... youre trying to capitalize on him...nelly is still wack...and that will never change

Ok, so I didn't wait a week :)

Here's the deal:

1.How did Kool Moe Dee and L.L. get started? (bonus old school points-name all of the songs)

a.) Kool Moe Dee was on some kick that LL Cool J was steeling his lyrical style. Then on the How You Like Me Now album, there was a Jeep running over LL's red Kangol behind Moe Dee.

b.) At that point LL Released (one of my favorite all time tracks from him) "Jack the Ripper".

c.) Kool Moe Dee came back with "Let's Go". (My favorite part was Moe Dee explaining what "LL" really stands for... :)

d.) then LL Released "Break of Dawn"....

e.) then Kool Moe Dee answered back with "Death Blow".

as far as I know, there were no more battles between the 2 after that...

2. How did BDP vs. juice crew get started?(EXTRA old school bonus points-give me BDP's original name)

a.) MC Shan's "The Bridge" was what set off KRS because Shan was saying Hip Hop originated in Queens...

b.) BDP answered back with "South Bronx"

c.) Shan answered back with "Kill that Noise"

d.) BDP came back with the mind blowing single "The Bridge is over"... Then in my opinion, who cares after that one - BDP tore them up... Then Roxanne Shante tried to dog KER in "Have a nice Day", etc etc etc...

e) Boogie Down Productions was first known as "Scott La Rock and the Celebrity 3"

What did I win? lol

Once again, DJ Uneq came through with the answer.Almost. First of all I DIDN'T know about the celebrity 3. BDP was also known as 24-7, and recorded for sleeping bag records. It was during a recording session that Mr. Magic heard them, and pretty much dissed them....Later, when Shan put out "the bridge", it wasn't that he said hip-hop started in queens (which, by the way, he NEVER said) it was the fact that the juice crew was down with Mr. Magic that got him dissed, actually, KRS was just getting back at Mr. Magic. Now, as for Kool Moe Dee & LL....Anybody ever listen to "I need a beat" from the Radio album, I mean REALLY listened to it? Well, if you do, and then listen to T-La Rocks "it's yours", You will notice that there is definately some style biting going on.(It's yours came first) So, what does this have to do with Kool Moe? Well, T-La Rock was Special K's BROTHER.(special K was in the treacherous three with Kool Moe Dee and L.A. Sunshine) Anyway, Kool Moe Dee decided To didd LL for biting T-La Rocks style.....
