your favorite diss tracks?
Permalink Closed

cube's 'no vaseline' is playing right now so that got me thinking...what are YOUR favorite diss tracks?

and forget all this 50 cent/game bull****

off the top of my head...

i think bdp's 'the bridge is over' would be at the top of many lists...

and speaking of ice cube; the fallout from the NWA breakup produced a lot of hate on tape; dre day, real muthaphuckkin g's, etc...

and ll cool j's 'mama said knock you out,' not really a diss track but a big **** you to all who hated on him (including kool moe dee of course)

pac ripped biggie pretty hard on a couple tracks...'hit em up' comes to mind ("**** bad boy as a staff, record label and a mother****ing crew")

nas had 'ether' which was killer, but likewise hova's 'takeover' was good as well

and **** tim dog didn't really hold back when he said '**** compton'

LL showed that rookie canibus to respect the architechts with The Ripper Strikes Back, Tyson caught it too, so did Clef. Then when he dropped that white label Rasta Impasta...man, dude killed Canibus's career. What he say in that song with Dre Zoom off the Bullworth soundrak "take ten steps then turn around that quick your whole ghost town is going down" Nobody was talkin bout Canibus the next year. He was supposed to be the new artist of 98 but it ended up being DMX. Unej what's this K-Solo joint U talkin bout, email it to me. Yo Common's Bitch N You is the ****, he checked Cube lovely on that joint. I got the soft version, I need the hard version with the more boom bap beat.

So many diss tracks...damn  My Favorites are No Vaseline, Jack The Ripper, the whole BDP/Shan thing from South Bronx to Kill That Noise and also MC Lyte's 10% Diss.  Lyte rips the hell outta Antionette on alla those joints

Of course, I am a huge fan of the Kool Moe/LL battle from back in the day, but Ice Cube's "No Vaseline" is just the WINNER to me. From the lyrics and from the way he spat, you can just TELL he probably said to himself, "I'm gon' shut these FOOLS UP once and for all!"

YO, the hands down, no doubt gratest diss record of ALL TIME is 'Big Mamma" by the gratest female m.c. of all time, Roxxane Shante! She took out Queen Latifah, Yo-Yo, Mony(in the middle) m.c. lyte, etc. on the same record. I also like ' The brak of dawn' by LL, where he took out Hammer, Kool Moe and Ice T. Speaking of Kool Moe, do yall remember the way he SHUT DOWN Busy Bee live at the harlem world? That, my friends is a true hip-hop classic.

two of my fav diss tracks are LL's diss to Cannibus, but i can't remeber the name.  another is Busta, 50, and Eminem's 'Hail Mary'' diss to Ja Rule, cuz he is a bitchass copycat nigga.  another is Nas' 'Ether when he dogged Jigga.  i like Jigga and everything, but Nas is my fav all-time rapper, and he killed Jigga with that shit...'heard it when i was sleep/that this Gay-Z and Cock-A-Fella Records wanted beef'...'i got this locked since '9-1/i am the truest/name a rapper that i ain't influenced'...'his manuscript just sound stupid...when KRS aready made a album called "Blueprint"/first, Biggie's ya man/then u got the nerve to say that u betta than Big/dick suckin lips, won't u let the late great veteran live'...'you a fan, a phony, a fake, a pussy, a Stan/i still whip yo ass/u 36 in a karate class?/u Tae-Bo ho'...'Rockafella died of AIDS, that was the end of his chapter/and that's the guy u chose to name ya company after?/put it together, i rock hoes, y'all rock fellas'...'Foxy got u hot cuz u kept ya face in her puss/what u think u gettin girls now cuz of ya looks?/negro please, u no mustache havin, with whiskers like a rat, compared to Beans u whack/and ya man stabbed Un and make u take the blame/u ass, went from Jaz to hangin with Kane, to Irv, to Big/and Eminem murdered u on ya own shit/u a dick-ridin faggot'...'how much of Biggie's rhymes is gon come out yo fat lips?/wanted to be own every last one of my classics'.  Now, tell me Nas ain't a lyrical mastermind.

hey dj uneq, please play "big mamma" by roxxane shante, and let the record speak for itself...No doubt the BEST diss. By the way, who is the only rapper to EVER diss KRS ONE and not get wrecked?
